Terms and Conditions
- We offer a variety of feature options, so please review them thoroughly before making your selection and submitting your request to be featured.
- All feature request submissions are subject to approval. The approval process can take between 1-5 business days while we review your shop, product quality, photo composition and clarity, potential competition between recently featured shops, and other key feature elements. If, for some reason, your request is not approved, you will be notified via email and your entire fee refunded, and we encourage you to request to be featured again in the future!
- When requesting a feature date you are choosing a 24 hour (or more) window in which we will post your feature. Feature post times on the date you selected are at the discretion of The Hive Handmade by Bugabaloo, Inc., however we do try to post features at times that usually have the highest engagement on our social media feeds.
- We welcome your input on what item you wish to feature, but ultimately we will chose which item and which photo from your shop will be featured. We prefer to use only finished product photos and not “behind the scenes” shots (unless we are featuring the maker and not the product, in which case, we love “behind the scenes” shots!)
- We encourage you to offer a coupon or discount code for our followers that is valid for at least the 48 hours starting on the day of your post. It can encourage higher interaction rates with our followers and more traffic to your shop!
- If your application is not accepted, feel free to apply again in the future! We only offer a few feature slots each day, so we can only fit what we feel are the very best and highest quality submissions into our schedule. To improve your chances for approval, make sure your photos are bright and clear (without a distracting watermark) and of the highest quality possible.
- Once your feature request has been submitted, paid, and approved, your feature fees are non-refundable. You are welcome to cancel your feature, prior to its posting, for any reason by submitting your request to us in writing.
- If you need to reschedule your feature, you will need to notify us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled post and we will do our best to reschedule your post to our next available time slot.
- All features are proudly and permanently stored on our feeds unless you request, in writing, that we remove them. Once posted, the features are permanent and will not be modified unless we have somehow made a mistake or typo in the post. (It’s very rare, but it is possible…)
- We do our very best to post on time the day of your scheduled feature, but we cannot be held responsible for “Acts of the Internet Gods” when social media sites go down, wifi becomes unavailable, the internet breaks, etc. If necessary, we will reschedule your post and notify you of the change as soon as possible.
- The Hive Handmade by Bugabaloo, Inc. does not guarantee the results of any feature. Features are designed to help shops gain exposure which will hopefully lead to added followers and new customers for the shop featured, but theses results can not be predicted or guaranteed.
- Feature prices are subject to change as our community grows.
What does The Hive do?
The Hive will provide all of the graphics, wording, and instructions for the loop, provided via email the Wednesday prior to the loop.
The Hive creates a Loop Group DM on Instagram the Tuesday prior to the loop to allow loop members to socialize, ask questions, and get step by step instructions and reminders for the loop in real time.
The Hive acts as host and anchor for the loop, exposing each shop to over 32k of our loyal followers during the loop posts and follow up reminder posts which feature products from each shop in the loop.
The Hive usually posts daily reminders for followers to enter the giveaway in addition to multiple reminder posts which feature products from each of the shops in the loop, including, but not limited to, collage posts, slideshow posts, and movie posts which will also be featured on our website homepage.
Important Dates and Times
The Hive will usually start up the loop group Instagram DM the Tuesday before the loop starts, and will email all of the details, instructions, and graphics the Wednesday before the loop starts.
The Loop Giveaway will begin on a Thursday and will last for 4 days, ending at midnight EST on Sunday night.
All shops must be available to post the primary giveaway post promptly at 8 pm EST the night the giveaway begins. Having all shops post at the exact same time is essential for the success of the giveaway. Failure to post promptly at 8 pm EST may result in your shop being “skipped” in the giveaway and your shop tags removed to ensure the loop connects for the members who posted on time.
The Hive generally hosts giveaways Thursday-Sunday, with notices and reminders posted twice on Thursday and once each following day.
Each shop will need to offer a prize or shop credit valued at $20 US or more, in addition to the $100 Grand Prize gift card offered by The Hive.
To enter the giveaway, followers will be required to follow The Hive and your shop and tag friends in the comment sections. Additional requirements can be added (shipping costs, country limitations, etc.) to your post at your discretion.
A site like Random.org will be used to select the winner within 24 hours of the close of the giveaway. The Hive will contact all shops and the grand prize winner to arrange for the prizes to be awarded. If shipping is involved, you must provide The Hive and the winner with a valid tracking number within three business days of receiving the winner’s mailing address.
How can I join?
The Hive’s Loop Giveaway buy-in is $25 US due at the time of the giveaway request submission. Once the request is received, the request will be reviewed to ensure the shop’s items match the giveaway’s theme, the products and photos are of a high quality, and that the shop will not be in direct competition with any other shop already approved for the loop.
Due to the nature of the giveaway and the grand prize winner’s gift card purchase, the buy-in fee is non-refundable unless the shop’s request is not approved, in which case the shop will be notified via email and the buy in fee will be refunded within 3-5 business days.
How are winners chosen?
- The grand prize winner of the gift card giveaway is randomly selected from the comments on the original Loop Giveaway post. One it can be determined that the “winner”has met all of the giveaway requirements and that the giveaway is not prohibited by the laws of their state/country, then the winner will be announced in the comment section of the original giveaway post. The winner will then have 48 hours to make contact via Instagram Direct Message with the requested information. If the winner does not make contact by Instagram DM within the 48 hour window, a new winner will be selected and posted following the normal process.
- The shop winners are randomly chosen by each shop and should have their eligibility verified by the shop that selected them. The winners will then be announced in the comment section of the original giveaway post for each shop. The winners will then have 48 hours to make contact via Instagram DM with the requested information. If a winner does not make contact by Instagram DM within the 48 hour window, a new winner will be selected and posted following the normal process.
